Dallas, TX – A longtime fan of Kendrick Lamar got more than she expected during the Compton rhymer’s show in Dallas, Texas last week.
In a video of a meet-and-greet backstage, K.Dot gave Jennifer Phillips — a 30-year-old woman who is quadriplegic and who uses a wheelchair — a tour jacket that included a handwritten message.
In the note, the rapper thanked her for her support over the years, and let her know that he plans on making sure that she’s “comfortable driving the city.”
Hi, I'm "Disabled Fan" lol what you missed is that the autographed jacket said he was buying me a new wheelchair van. Give him his props pls https://t.co/Y83vtJAdRW

“Thank you for always supporting me. Your a inspiration for me,” the note from Kendrick Lamar read. “You are strong and positive. Your kind and beautiful. For all the years of inspiring me, the least I can do is make sure your comfortable driving the city. A gift from me to you. Your always appreciated.”
Phillips had been raising money with GoFundMe for a new modified van since her current means of transportation was falling apart, but she was able to end the campaign after Kendrick’s gift.
She also shared some images of the other gifts she received from the TDE crew, and thanked them all for their support, writing in an Instagram caption, “I was a big fan of music and concerts before my injury but I never supported and loved a label like theirs before. Of course they have great music but they are also great people. None of them have ever treated me like a stranger or a charity case lol.”

Kendrick Lamar is currently criss-crossing the country on The DAMN. Tour. The rapper is scheduled to perform in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Wednesday (July 19).
