Following the debut of Drake’s facetious ad for Virginia Black Whiskey on Saturday (July 15), Sean “Diddy” Combs took to Twitter to send the Toronto titan a celebratory message. Alongside Drake’s ad, which also features his father Dennis Graham, Diddy wrote, “Another man of color owning their own is big for all of us!!! It’s time to start supporting us!!!! Congrats @Drake #BlackExcellence.”

The “#BlackExcellence” hashtag is in reference to Diddy’s short film — Black Excellence — that the Bad Boy mogul unveiled Saturday night. Starring JAY-Z, it’s a behind-the-scenes look at the Roc Nation Brunch and Diddy’s Pre-Grammy soiree. The film also features French Montana, Jaden Smith, 2 Chainz, and DJ Khaled, and music from JAY, Notorious B.I.G. and Cheryl Lynn.
Diddy has found significant success with his own Cîroc Vodka brand, but only time will tell if Drake’s venture with Virginia Black Whiskey will be as lucrative.
