Hartford, CT – A Chance The Rapper show in Hartford, Connecticut held on Friday (July 21) ended with at least 90 people hospitalized for “severe intoxication,” according to the Hartford Courant. Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley said officers also cited 50 concert attendees for underage drinking at Hot 93.7′s Hot Jam concert, which also featured performances from PnB Rock, Kyle and ANoyd.
In two separate videos Deputy Foley posted to Twitter, it’s clear the crowd was in a celebratory mood, but evidently things got out of control. Foley added that people were tailgating, partying and excessive alcohol consumption was “extremely prevalent.”
Police made several arrests and ambulances were called in to rush dozens of concertgoers to the hospital to receive emergency medical treatment.

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford treated at least 15 concert attendees, mainly teenagers, including a 19-year-old male who reportedly had a blood-alcohol content of nearly 0.5, eight times the legal limit for driving.
John Brancato, assistant director of the pediatric emergency department for the medical center told the Courant the unidentified man was admitted to the intensive care unit for close monitoring.
